OMG my first sale ever on my song!!!!!
YAYYYYYYYYYYYYY :DDD
I’m backk!!
My new original (it’s not completed) but so far I’ve got a pretty good base of everything and I think it will be good with a short intro and instrumental bridge and outro and transitions :) right now it’s still quite short (2:29).
What I realized today when I was recording/mixing: headphones selection changes everything. I have three, one Apple ear-pad, one in-ear earbuds, and an over-head headphones, and today I tried every of them when I was mixing to see how the reverb and EQ sounded like - I was surprised (shocked, even!) at how much difference it made between one headphones and another. The Apple ear-pad made the reverb sounded very… narrow, idk how to explain, but it wasn’t as wide as I’d liked it to be. With the in-ear earbuds all I could hear was the vocals (exaggerated, but you know what I mean). The reverb was pretty much flat like I was in an overheated bathroom. The over-head headphones were the best, the reverb was distributed evenly at the top of my head.
So, yeah, just to keep in mind to any of those who do the mixing job out there - don’t forget to test different headphones! I know mine’s different and I’m sure so is yours :) Oh and you should also check with speakers too (haven’t done that yet, but will do that soon)
By the way, I did all the arranging this time!! I didn’t record everything though - piano was by my music teacher (cause he has all these fancy harmony thingy it was so nice I knew I couldn’t do it that well) and the guitar was by my friend Dong Heon. Just cause I can’t play guitar. The rest (bass, strings, vocals, etc etc) are all done by me! On Mixcraft 5.2 :) I’m finding it a great software :)
Anyways, I’ll be back with the final version of “Blow Your Cover” for sure! :)
So I got a new mic!! It’s a Takstar CM-450 and I love it!! Today was my first experimental kinda session doing some song covers, and omg the sound was just amazing! I’m serious.
Have a listen :) I know my mixing quality isn’t top notch, because the whole thing is totally unstable in volume and reverb lol :P but good enough. I’ll figure those settings out as I go along :)

Oh and btw, the song is Frank Sinatra’s Fly Me to the Moon :) (I’ve been into Jazz lately ehehehhehe)
So it has come to me that I need to decide what I want to do with this blog now that I’m finished with the personal project.
And what have I decided? To keep it running! Yes, so that means this is where I’m going to be posting new stuff and everything too so of course that means future projects and compositions and all those :) I’m already in the process of continuing where I left off from pp, because I know that I love music and I love singing and now I found another thing that I love which is songwriting. And well, although this blog won’t just purely be about songwriting I will continue to write songs and post here with you guys along with covers and other little things.
So who’s excited? I know I am :))

:P
Today I talked to the guy at the CD shop near the movie place we went to to ask for info on CD printing. He said since mine is in black and white, it is simple and so the design printing on CDs will be free (included with CD copying). So if I get about 20 CDs copied, they will stick the design for me on top of the disc free of charge.
For the CD cover I think I will just have to do a simple cardboard Publisher design and just cut it out maybe, or buy some plastic covers and put the design on top…
oh well. will do a fancy CD somewhen in the future when I have time to research more about it. As for now I’ll need to finish my report! :)
Today at lunch time I came by Mrs Penrose’s room to collect my marked first draft of the report. She told me that the report was good regarding to content, but the grammar (English) needed some editing. I also need to put appendices and bibliography in too, and also ask Mrs Law about the word limit. Gotta cut it down if it’s 3500 limit.
I plan to edit and finish this by maybe the end of next week? As my schedule is quite full (soccer season just started) I will try to do little by little every day and save a huge amount of time by just doing it all at once.
